SPC vs flexible LVT
Compare core, fixing, floor height and total project scope so similar-looking products do not become an uneven price comparison.
The material choice, product specification and import basis all affect the price you compare. These flooring procurement guides help your team move from an initial product shortlist to a meaningful quotation.
SPC describes a rigid-core construction. LVT is a vinyl flooring term that can include different constructions; LVP describes a plank format. Your useful comparison identifies the actual product.
SPC combines a rigid core, decorative layers and click joints. Compare the core, wear layer, backing and joint arrangement with your intended installation.
Our flexible LVT options use different fixing approaches. The substrate, adhesive or restraint requirements belong alongside the material price in the project comparison.
The finish, wear layer, decor and backing do different jobs. A construction name and layer values make the quotation easier to assess.
The wear layer sits over the printed decor. Core or body thickness and attached backing are separate measurements; your quotation identifies the assembly.
| Measurement | Meaning | Useful comparison |
|---|---|---|
| Core or body thickness | The main plank construction | State whether the figure includes an attached pad. |
| Wear layer | The protective layer over the printed decor | 0.3 / 0.5 / 0.7 mm are approximately 12 / 20 / 28 mil. One mil equals 0.001 inch. |
| Backing | An optional or format-specific underside layer | Identify material and thickness. Acoustic results depend on the tested floor assembly. |
| Price per area | The product and delivery scope being quoted | Specify m² or sq ft, currency, quantities per decor and the delivery basis. |
Eligible Thailand-origin SPC can offer a tariff advantage over comparable China-origin goods for U.S. imports. Classification, qualifying origin and the rules in force at entry determine the treatment.
Your existing core, wear layer, dimensions, backing and packaging give the comparison a consistent starting point. We identify the proposed manufacturing origin in the quotation.
The factory price, freight and other import charges all affect margin. Your customs broker can review the proposed classification, origin evidence and rules applicable to the shipment.
The U.S. duty comparison does not apply automatically elsewhere. Your product, market documents and delivery requirements guide the international quotation.
Technical terminology and import rules are separate from a product-specific approval or customs ruling.
